Remember when the Sens were the big losers in the 2018 draft for keeping #4 and taking Brady and the Wings were deemed big winners by the pundits for landing Zadina at #6...

it looks so far (only 2 seasons in) that the habs faired the worst of those top picks.

kotki has been by far the least effective of the top 4 picks.

guess down the road we will readress.

another comparison we will surely see over the years is byram vs Brady.

Yeah, was thinking the same thing. While I don't think he was ever worth his contract, I do hope he gets whatever help he needs.

Good luck to Bobby Ryan. He is very popular with his team mates. I hope this works for him.

Kid’s been through a helluva lot in his life.

Here’s hoping he can get back on the straight and narrow.

Big fan of Batchof Hotsauce, but he hasn’t looked that good when I’ve seen him this year.

Jesus, what are we going to do?

These guys are starting to put themselves on the edge of the playoffs

Brady Tkachuk, sweet hands, not many guys have the cool to be able to tuck it so calmly between the legs of an all world goalie like Price.

They have an almost identical record to where they were at this point last year.

Problem is they are getting better. Last year they fell apart.

Hard not to cheer for them to win when they are working as hard as they are.

Tkachuk is a horse.

Duclair, a gift.

Chabot is having to adjust to being a team leader, he is being challenged and targeted every game. Overall he is doing good.

Not sure where we should go from here. Is Pageau the right fit to help the kids grow into their full potential? I think so and I hope they find a way for him to stay.

Finding it hard to cheer them to lose. Fully enjoyed the overtime win.

...not just the hands.
He basically created the entire situation from behind his own net, realised he'd confused the two Habs players......and was gone.

I keep saying the goal-tending will revert back to wear it should, but it hasn't yet.

This is more likely a blip, but as you say, it sure is fun to watch.

Time will tell. String of mediocre teams mixed in to their next 6 games or so.

I went back and watched just him from the start of that play, the way he got on his horse was very impressive.

His hands are a bit of an enigma. Sometimes it looks like he has stone hands and very little skill, and then he goes and makes a play like that.

...you know what has helped with that?? (and this season is a crazy one-off)

The owner has STFU and has barely been seen.

Agreed - the run of hot goaltending will likely end at some point, but it's clearly given at least a few of the players a renewed sense of confidence. Duclair looks like he did back when he was scoring 50G in the QMJHL, and playing for Canada at the WJC. Given the dynamic nature of this game and his 30G scoring pace, I'd say at least a 2nd line scoring line role is his to lose - even if they start to bring up younger players. Some people might take issue with that, but there were only 45 players in the NHL who scored 30G last year, half of them were former top-10 draft picks, and relatively few of the others were 25 or younger. Now, Duclair may eventually price himself out of town, but I think he's more than aware of the fact that he's in the best situation of his career, and may be willing to try to fit into the team's longer-term plans.

With some luck a new owner would be in place by then
